AGREEMENT ON CHILDCARE ISSUES COOPERATION

Good cooperation of Palilula with the Center for Social Work "Sveti Sava" will be expanded with the support of Municipality to the users of Center for Foster Care and Adoption in Nis. About the forms of the cooperation Boban Džunić, president of Palilula Municipality, Violeta Blagojevic, director of the Center for Foster Care and Adoption and Zoran Jovic, director of the Center for Social Work in Niš were discussing. At the working meeting, in which work Marija Brajdic, Head of Administration of Palilula Municipality was involved, it was agreed to sign the agreement protocol on the cooperation to improve the content of work in this area.

According to the President Džunić, currently in Nis, from the number of 166 foster families, 70 live in the territory of our Municipality. Of the total 260 hosted youngsters, about ninety children are the residents from Palilula. That does not leave us at all indifferent, emphasized Boban Džunić, so we organized this meeting with the management of the Center for Foster Care and Adoption.

According to statistical data, in the field of social needs, the total number of persons who have registered with the Center for Social Work "Sveti Sava" in Nis, over 67 percent of citizens are from Palilula Municipality. In accordance with the capabilities and competencies, one of the priorities of the territorial and organizational structure of the City of Nis, is taking into account socially vulnerable categories of the population, children and youth, persons with disabilities, elderly and sick people, Roma population. Although, according to the average wage for working capable population we are at the very bottom of towns and municipalities in the Republic, Palilula Municipal management is actively involved in solving these problems.
